We all know that these are challenging times of which we’re reminded of constantly through various news channels and social media. It’s these times that as a community we need to come together more so than ever before.
We built The Chester Fields with the mindset that it would become a central hub for the community and I really hope that we’ve achieved that. If we have, it’s only because you have all made it happen. We sincerely thank you for that.
This week we’ve stepped out of our comfort zone by offering a home delivery service with a difference.
Importantly we’ve taken into consideration all the safety factors:
This is the reason why we’re not prepared to serve hot deliveries.
I speak from the heart when I say that we are doing this purely for the community and our intentions are only to cover our fixed costs and make no profit. You’ve all helped and supported us for the last 8 years and I know that you’ve done so because you enjoy the social space that we’ve provided and hopefully also for the award winning food & drink that we provide each day.
In order for us to still be there after we’ve gone through these challenging times, I’m asking you all as a favour to support our service so we are able to celebrate together when this is all over.
Anyone who orders home delivery with us will be put into a raffle where we will select 3 names randomly. The first 2 runners up will win dinner for 2 when we re-open. The third will win the following:
I’ve been in touch with Councillor Margaret Parker and Jane Spence who have informed me of those in the village of Mickle Trafford who may need some help at some point. As a central hub for the community I want to reach out to anyone else who is in desperate need of anything. We are fortunate that as an operating business with our delivery service, we are still able to get hold of certain essential items that some residents urgently need but are unable to get or receive, such as toilet rolls. Just call us and we can see if we can help.
I thank you sincerely for reading this and for supporting us both past, present and future.
I also ask that if our service isn’t required that you please look after the struggling small local shops who really are being bullied out of business by the large supermarkets. One particular local chain returned profits of £2.2b last year and the CEO earned a salary of £1.4m plus a £3m bonus. Need I say any more!
Please stay safe and keep positive thoughts. This is not a black hole, it’s an unexpected tunnel that has light at the end of it.
Fondest regards,
Managing Director
